With over 16 years of experience,
your child is in the best of hands.
I’m Carissa —lifelong swimmer, dedicated coach, and lover of everything water.
I began competitive swimming at age 8 in Carlsbad, California, where I was born and raised. My swim career continued through college, where my relay team qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials.
I started teaching swim lessons in 2008 after working as a lifeguard at a waterpark and thereafter quickly advanced to directing their swim lesson program.
I have since taught private swim lessons across California, Texas, New York, and Florida, with a strong focus on reducing childhood drownings in Florida, where nearly 100 children drown annually.
I specialize in teaching children with special needs, including nonverbal students, and students with disabilities.

For me, the most fulfilling part of my work is helping children gain confidence and discover the joy of swimming, and being comfortable, yet respectful of the water.

I look forward to meeting you!
